UDIOBOOK PROMOTION IDEAS
  • Promote audio versions with print version - through stickers, book shelf markers, or displays.
  • Include audiobooks on "Staff Recommendation" lists
  • Encourage sound samples through sites like Sound Cloud
  • Share audio bites from "Why Favorite Authors Love Audiobooks"


CD' s ARE STILL THE MOST POPULAR FORMAT 
  • 65% of audiobooks sold are in CD format - Audio Publishers Association Sales Survey 200
  • Most listeners are still listening on CDs but 15% of adults and 19% of teens have downloaded an audiobook - Audio Publishers Association Consumer Survey 2010

WAPL is Nearly Here!

Wisconsin Association of Public Libraries Annual Conference is coming to the Blue Harbor Resort and Spa in Sheboygan this week!

Programs begin Thursday morning at 9am. If you want to start planning your conference agenda or carry a digital file with you, the conference program book is available to download. The e-copy program book is identical to the one handed out at registration.

If you haven't already registered for WAPL 2014, it's not too late! Single day and full conference registration will be available at the conference.

Outreach Services Roundtable (OSRT) will be meeting on Thursday at 4pm. Even if you cannot attend the full conference, meetings are free! Join us! We'd love to share outreach ideas and events with you.

Do You Money Smart?

Money Smart Week @ your library--April 5-12, 2014!--is a national initiative in its fourth year between the ALA and the Federal Reserve Bank (Chicago) to provide financial literacy programming to help members of your community better manage their personal finances. Seven hundred libraries, of all types, will be helping become money smart next week, April 5-12. "Money Smart Week @ your library" is a partnership initiative between the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to expand Money Smart Week® to libraries across the country. Libraries will present programs for all ages, and all stages of life, related to personal financial literacy.
